How amazing is this video documenting a century of fashion? I think it would be dreamy to have had the chance to partake in the trends of the 20s (fashion only though – ha!) and wow, did the 90s look familiar to me. Did you notice how the gentlemen leaves in the middle? It took me two viewings and a bit of googling to realize that he is going off to war – London in the 40’s! It reminds me of the fascinating stories my grandparents have told me about being a child in that turbulent time in history. My two favorites have always been the tales of how they – being on the water in Gig Harbor – had to turn off their lights at night so the bomber jets couldn’t see where land began and I find the fact that their margarin came with a yellow dot to pop and mix into the white solid material as thrilling to this day as I did when I first heard the story when I was eight. Both are truly legendary to me as it’s not something I can even begin to imagine.
