Now, for something that simply cannot fail to bring a smile to your face despite the turbulent events of the last few days. BABIES! There seems to be baby fever in the air (to be clear though, not in our household :P)! Many friends have been welcoming little bundles of joy recently and I’m here to share my go-to homemade baby gift that I’ve been told is also incredibly functional.
The concept is simple but sweet and customizable, as some of the best gifts often are. A drawstring bag with all the fixings for a single diaper change and a basket to corral the bags so the bleary eyed new parent could simply throw a drawstring bag into their purse/car/diaper bag and have everything they need to handle a dirty diaper on the go. In addition to the diaper, I include a package of travel wipes, hand sanitizer, disposal changing pad, and disposal bag for the dirty diaper after the change in each bag. I bribed a family friend to whip up these bags for me and she said it took under an hour. However, if you are also woefully under-skilled in the sewing arena and aren’t lucky enough to have friends who are talented and also enjoy Starbuck’s gift cards, I have found similar cloth, small, drawstring bags in the favor section at Target and Party City. A fun tip: Honest Company diapers are, in addition to being non-toxic and chlorine free, SUPER CUTE and never fail to elevate this basket of goodness. I cannot speak to their performance but I mean — these ones have little skulls on them. I’m dying.
