Our Holiday Decor

How can we already be just two weeks away from Christmas!?!  September through December flies by in two seconds flat, and January through April takes 800 years.  In honor of these speedy holiday hours, minutes and seconds, I’m here today to share a few photos of how we decorated our home to savor the season!

I know I’ve waxed frequently on the blog about my love of the holidays and the pure, unspoiled magic that it brings, ripe with an ambiance of merriment and kindness.  I’m certain that Christmas decor is responsible for a signifiant amount of the magic – enrapturing the essence of the season.  We’ve had a true PNW winter with lots of rain, drizzle, and a colorless sky.  But wait for it…that’s a good thing!  Each morning I stumble out of bed and plug in all the Christmas lights, before I’ve even managed to even pour myself a cup of coffee; then I get to enjoy their cozy glow all day long.  Sometimes I work from the island in the middle of the day and find myself mesmerized by the tree.  We have bits of festive, holiday cheer on the coffee bar, poinsettias lining the windowsills, and the cookbooks in the island shelves have disappeared, the timeless Christmas village that I stole from my mom nestled in its place.  Our home has a lovely, cozy warmness for the season and I’m 110% excited about it.  And just in case you were wondering, that’s Will-Ferrell-in-Elf level excited. I just want to make snow angels for two hours, then go ice skating, and then eat a whole roll of toll house cookie dough as fast as I can, and then snuggle!!

Happy decorating, one and all!

P.S. I apologize for the radio silence here last week – between work and getting terribly, terribly sick I slept every spare second I could manage.  The good news is that I’m feeling much better and have some festive content coming this week in honor of the spirit of the season.  Thanks for reading – I appreciate you blog readers more than you know.
