Our Stockings!

Cameron and I have been married for a year and a half and spent Christmas morning together long before that but this is the first year we’ve had a place of our own (that wasn’t under construction) to deck out in holiday magic.  Having just begun the remodel at the beginning of December last year, I threw a few 99 cent poinsettias up and called it good.  This year; however, I am gleefully decorating every corner of our house, bringing in the magic that embodies the Christmas season.  While I truly do love the crispness of fall and the breathtaking beauty of the season in the PNW, I so too enjoy the pure bliss that accompanies a Christmas song, the feeling of numb cheeks on a sunny winter day, and the cozy joy that is sparked by the twinkling Christmas lights around our house as we settle in each evening.

This year we stole a bunch of decorations from my parents and began a collection of our very own.  The first item of our own Christmas decorations I ordered before Halloween, in all of my excitement; it’s our STOCKINGS!!  I searched high and low looking for the goldilocks of stockings.  Nothing too country, nothing too small, nothing too big; not a perfectly matching set, but one that was clearly coordinating.  I knew they would be with our family for decades so I wanted them to be easy to fit into our decor as it changed and I also felt it was important that they could be replicated as our family grows throughout the years.  I finally found them on this Etsy shop.  It took over a month for them to arrive and when they did…better than I could have dreamed!  I’m so in love and I cannot wait to spend one of our “12 Dates of Christmas” filling Sampson’s.  I’m also excited to share the rest of our Christmas decorations and the photos of the hunt for our very first Christmas tree next week on the blog!  Tis the very best season!
