There are a few recipes that have achieved legendary status in our household. The classics. The go-to’s. My great aunt’s tex-mex dip, my mom’s sugar cookies, or my dad’s almond roca. And Patti Leeper crackers. The name of these addictive gems includes a bit of folklore. We got the recipe from Patti Leeper and in a moment of wild creativity began calling them…yeah, you get it. Come to find out, Patti and her family call them Granda Marge crackers as Grandma Marge passed the recipe onto them. I’ve heard tales that some friends with whom my mom has shared the recipe call them Kellie Graham crackers. Now I’m seizing my moment and sharing them with you! Patti Leeper Crackers, Party Crackers, Jena Miller Crackers – the choice is yours. Make the right one. 😛
With only four ingredients, Patti Leeper crackers couldn’t be easier to make. Simply combine the ingredients in a gallon sized ziplock and shake the bag until fully mixed. Shake, shake, shake! Shake, shake, shake, shake that baggg, shake that bag! Is the shake your booty song stuck in your head now? 😀 I find they are best when left to marinate overnight but they can be enjoyed a couple hours after mixing as well. Salty and flavorful, this elevated take on the oyster cracker is certain to become the smash hit snack of your next gathering – or you can make a batch all for yourself to enjoy as you binge watch Designated Survivor. I won’t judge.
- 2 bags high quality oyster crackers
- 3/4 - 1 package Ranch dressing mix
- 1 tsp dill
- 1/2 bottle popcorn oil
- Place the oyster crackers in a gallon ziplock bag.
- Add the hill as much of the Ranch packet as desired - 1/2 packet will result in a subtle seasoning, more will result in a more flavorful snack. I find that 3/4 packet is the sweet spot for my tastes.
- Seal the bag and gently mix the seasonings and the crackers.
- Add the popcorn oil and mix again until crackers are evenly coated with both seasonings and oil.
- Allow to sit for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Enjoy!
Yummy! Very cute post! xoxoxoxo
