T.G.I.F ~ 12/2

TGIF!  Thanks goodness indeed.  It’s been a bit of a longer week but I’m looking forward to embracing the stormy weather and cuddling up with warm blankets and our cozy Christmas lights.  We are also off to our first holiday party of the season this weekend!  I hope your weekend is joyful and festive.

Thought:  4 year olds.  Talking about marriage, kisses, and cold sores.  In British accents.  Adorable.

Gist:  I read this blog post on A Cup Of Jo weeks ago and am still turning it over in my mind each and every time I see a magazine cover.  The process of creating a New York Times Magazine cover fascinated me and sounds a bit like my dream job – from the glamorous shoots to the hundreds of calls for a single balloon I’d love every bit of it.  Too bad I live on the opposite coast 😉  If you are interested, this article on How to Hide 400 Million Dollars was my favorite New York Times Magazine piece this week.  It’s a riveting and sobering peak into the lives of the rich and the impossibilities of our current world financial system.  Given all the elements that are present in situations like this, I’m not surprised that those with all with the trappings of truly opulent wealth are able to find every loophole available.

Image: Yeah, there was something on the TV.  But stacking crackers on your puppy’s paw and making him wait to eat them until you have a proper pyramid built, drool streaming down his chin the entire time…that’s far more entertaining.

Find:  As much money as I spend at Sephora, it’s surprising even to myself that I hate perfumes.  The occasional body spray is light enough for me to handle but I find conventional perfumes to be much too heavy for daily use.  That said, I’m absolutely in love with juliette has a gun.  A self proclaimed, “not a perfume” the official sales pitch touts its style to be:  “Minimalist. Fresh. Clean.” and I think that succinctly nails it.  I’ve been using it daily for the past month and I’m beginning to hoard my sample size, already sad for the day it will run out.
