Happy Tuesday! Here are three fun tips, tricks, or thoughts that made me smile recently. Enjoy and remember, it’s almost hump day!
Fresh flowers are possibly my favorite thing to have around the house. The joy and life they bring to the room is worth every penny. However, in the middle of winter fresh flowers can cost a lot of pennies! To ensure my flowers last as long as possible, I do my best to change the water every other day and provide them with a bit of “flower food”. The bouquets of flowers from the grocery store typically only come with a single packet and the farmers market flowers don’t come with any at all so I’ve taken to making my own – it couldn’t be easier. Simply mix together 1 quart water + 2 tablespoons lemon juice + 1 tablespoon sugar + 1/2 teaspoon bleach. I use this non-toxic, chlorine free bleach powder from the Honest Company to ensure our home stays as non-toxic as possible. Above, you can see the flowers that are currently brightening up our kitchen table.
Although I think at the current price point they are a bit too expensive to justify, I love the idea of these monthly date night boxes delivered to your home! I’m definitely stealing some of the dates to implement ourselves (make-your-own sushi date is pictured).
And finally, this video of a baby teaching an interpretive dancing lesson. If that doesn’t make you smile, I give up! 😃0
