Three Terrific Things

Yesterday’s teaser of warmer weather and bright sunshine made Monday blissfully pleasant; however, with the return of the gray skies, I’m here to help ease you back into this work week. Here are three terrific things – all of which brought a smile to my face.

The Daily Overview Instagram account posts aerial shots of everything from famous cities to beaches, national landmarks to national forests. Not only are they breathtakingly beautiful but it’s a poignant reminder of how different things can look from a fresh angle.

Although my days of apartment and roommate living are hopefully behind me, this video is side-splittingly funny as it’s just so true. The pure passive aggressiveness gives me the giggles each and every viewing.

I’ve been making this post workout smoothie from Cupcakes and Cashmere’s Leslie every morning for the past week and can’t get over how delicious it is (recipe below)! Gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free it somehow tastes heavenly, and I was thoroughly surprised at how thick and creamy it was. Turns out, adding a small amount of coconut oil to milk helps it froth up in a beautifully tasty way. Who knew!?

Post-Workout Breakfast Smoothie
1 cup almond milk (you can also use regular whole milk but I like the earthy flavor the almond milk adds to it)
1 teaspoon coconut oil (to make it creamier when blended)
1 tablespoon almond butter (add more if you need some extra calories)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cardamom
1 teaspoon turmeric (it has wonderful anti-inflammatory properties.)
1 teaspoon maca (great for immunity)
1 teaspoon Ho Shou Wu (good for hair and skin)
1 large banana (2 if you want it to be extra-creamy, almost like a shake!)
2 tablespoons Perfect Fit (or any plant-based protein powder)
1 shot of espresso (I use my Nespresso machine)
