T.G.I.F – 9/23

tgif_logo.001 cropped Happy Friday!!  I’ve been lucky enough to get a few more wearings out of my summer dresses this week but today the rain has arrived and it really feels like fall.  This slow transition from summer to fall is my favorite time of the year and I’m excited to get my sweaters and North Face’s down from the closet shelves, do a bit of fall cleaning around the house, and get some hot, delicious ramen this weekend.  I hope you have a great one!

Thought:  A dose a sage wisdom for you.  Sometimes the World’s Best Boss really did have some profound ideas to share.

Gist:  In my very short career, the concept of work-life balance has been at the forefront of my mind and has been a driving force behind several professional decisions.  I found this article about a man who has implemented a five-hour workday at his company fascinating.  In particular, the idea that “…my gut told me that attracting better people, making them happy, and getting out of their way would compensate for these limitations [in terms of shorter hours on the job]”.

Image:  I forced our incredibly impatient puppy to pose in the backyard so I could capture him with the stunning fall sunset as a backdrop.

Find:  How clever are these balloons!?!  I’m thinking adorable baby birthday photoshoots where you spell the birthday guy or gal’s name.  I’m thinking filling a car with them to celebrate a family member’s recent accomplishments.  I’m thinking prom-posal idea!?

Soul-food Saturday:  Celebrate the changing of the seasons in whatever fashion sounds the best to you.  Perhaps you want to bake a loaf of pumpkin bread, pull your sweaters down from storage, or cuddle up under some toasty blankets and binge watch all the new fall TV (This Is Us made me bawl and we are so excited to see our King Of Queens favorite Kevin James back on TV in his new show Kevin Can Wait).
